    NFF Unveils Finidi As Super Eagles Head Coach

    Former international player Finidi George, has been unveiled as Super Eagles head coach.

    The unveiling ceremony took place at Nigeria’s capital, Abuja on Monday morning.

    Also at the unveiling ceremony were the Secretary General of the NFF, Mohammed Sanusi as well as top officials of the soccer house and sports ministry.

    The unveiling is expected to kick-start the 53-year-old’s reign in charge of the Super Eagles.

    Finidi was previously an assistant to former handler of the team Jose Peseiro.The former Ajax and Real Betis winger worked with Peseiro for 20 months.

    The former Enyimba gaffer led the Super Eagles as a caretaker coach for the friendlies against Black Stars of Ghana and Eagles of Mali in March.

    His first game in charge of the three-time African champions will be against the Bafana Bafana of South Africa in June.

    The 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying fixture will hold at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo.
