Following the attempted evacuation of some water pipes and accessories of an abandoned Dam project in Okpella, the Okpella Forum Chairman, Barr. John Okodo has issued a strong warning to the self acclaimed Federal Ministry of Water resources should desist from making the moves of moving the pipes without filling the agreement and Memorandum of the ministry and Okpella community by making available alternative water supply to the community, he said any action contrary to the MOU is a deliberate criminality .

“The agreement and Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Water Resources and Okpella Community is that an alternative water supply be provided to the community prior to taking the water pipes and accessories”.

“Any action contrary to the MOU amounts to deliberate criminality in connivance with our unpatriotic members of the Committee”.

He added that, the water recourse committee in Okpella, had similar issues around this time last year when some thieves in cahoot with Federal Government Officials particularly from the Office of the Secretary to Government of the Federation (SGF), he said, a few of them followed up the matter to the extent of getting the thieves about seven arrested and the matter is in court right now.

Barr. John Okodo hereby advise the people who have been collecting monies from the so called thieves of different shades to desist from doing so because they are working closely with other agencies to do the same.

“The history of the criminal activities to cart away these water pipes had been on since the year 2002 up to this date with the connivance of our people”.

He also thank some of the youth leaders who have been the frontliner like Barr Akuri, Alhaji Hon.Abdumalik Aliu, and others of the Okpella Students Union who attest to this fight they started many years ago, he made it know that they’ve been working behind the scene with those past NAOS Presidents.

” I am confident that many people will go to jail on this matter if they do not stop”.
