I will start by defining a myopic behaviour as behavior based on the pursuance of short-term results and represents an action in regards to what one wants now, without taking into account any future consequences.

Haven done that, don’t ask me why the above caption? How will one described a community where market lands are sold because of today cash and forget to care and considered about tomorrow?

I am harsh with my condemnation of such act because old Okugbe market land was sold and bought by an Okpellan described in the caption above.

I was passing through the Okpella Comprehensive School Road now famous for the very poor handling of the road by a contractor who one may best be described as a leader, one of the finest and educated Okpella among his generation.

So, if a man of such character and status can lack the conscience and superintendent such a project in that manner, who will the led looked up to as role model? Last week was one of the saddest week of my existence as an Okpellan.

With all the known problems bedeviling our community which are not limited to lack of a monarch, inadequate infrastructures, thuggery, arson, murder, violate behaviour to corporate organization and services providers, extortion, illegal ticketing which is fuelling cultism and violent crime, human right violation by those who claim to be exercising their right to public disturbance in the name of protest by forcing other to be part of their illegality and while not knowing that by so doing, they are also breaching others freedom of eight to movent, collection of matching ground from legitimate business activities and owners, and the crucification of those who dare to condemn such axis of evil behaviour, why will a sane man be suprise to see that a market land belonging to the Local Govt council for public convenience is sold and the buyer is an organization among the echelon of civilized Okpella. Of course rich, because a poor group cannot afford such a landed property.

While not elsewhere? Or there is mo land in Okpella again? That it is capable of pushing a sane man into insanity, is not far from the truth because community who own lands in Okpella are selling land to developers without any provision for future infrastructural expansion and requirement in Okpella.

No consideration to reserving land for schools, markets, play ground and other public use in new built up area which oir tiwnship expansion in Okpella will bring to bear in no distance future. While this new improved negative tread not going to made a healthy man sick when selling of school land in the past is be upgraded to selling of market land?

Post office land has been sold and the remaining portion is seriously encroached on by the same set of people who only concern us today and have no tomorrow on their agenda.

With all the aclaimec civilization, we are building a settlement haven no streets and road in new built up areas during development. Strips of land left for lane, street, avenue, road, close and anything that make a settlement to be considered a town instead of a village and worst still a slum are sold for the convenience of today and paving ways for future disaster and shame Do we have water line to accommodate flood water whose volume will increase in future?

Do we have green area? Where will public hospital going to be built tomorrow? Where are our children going to use as their play ground for football tomorrow if we comtinue to live like these?

Do we have anywhere left for daily market tomorrow? Has Ogene and his neighbour build on where we have a market close to roundabout then where our woman going to sell and earn a living to assist the family tomorrow.

Why are we so careless about our tomorrow? Why dont we just plan oir settlement?Conclusively, a community who cannot see the future and to build a Palace for its royalty because they see nothing good in having a united Okpella like others can never be focus and do the right thing. This is highly regrettable and a shame.

We cannot continue to be laughing stock to our neighbours. Am I the only young man seeing these odd tread? I ask because even the youth are more involved than the elder. If you disagreed with me, why are the youth involed and instead ask the right questions? Your guess obviously may be as good as mine.I know I will be hated for this. I just dont mind.
